This is the second solid Ebony smoothing plane I’ve made and it is the widest plane to date. Finding clean Ebony stock this dimension is not very common, the sole is Macassar Ebony. The plane measures 2-1/4’’ W x 2-1/4’’ H x 9’’ L and comes with a fully tuned 1-3/4’’ Hock iron in O1 high carbon steel. The shape and faceting adds visual interest as well as a pleasant ergonomic feel, which is important in wider planes. Pairs well with the Ebony Shooting Plane.
