This new Ferrazzutti jointer/shooting plane is solid Mahogany combined with a Ziricote sole and Ebony cross pin and Ziricote wedge. It is signed and is the sixth in an up coming series of unique shooting planes. The Mahogany makes this a lighter weight plane compared to the heft of more dense woods. The plane is 1-7/8’’ x 1-7/8’’ x 14’’ long and comes with a fully sharpened O1 steel Hock 1-1/4’’ iron and breaker. The narrow design is well suited for edging boards and removing machine marks prior to edge gluing. It is also very effective used on it’s side for shooting veneers for flawless joints. The angular shape and tapering facets not only add interest and style they make the plane feel nice in the hands. It’s actually hard to describe how awesome this plane feels in the hands.
